FOUND POETRY WORKSHOP

2021 // VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP FOR CREATIVE MORNINGS [ONLINE]

Poetry can be found everywhere and by anyone that pays attention. I truly believe this, which became the basis for a found poetry workshop I developed for Creative Mornings Virtual Field Trips.

The short video is of my introduction to found poetry and the work to be done in the workshop. Creative Mornings have kindly filmed and made it available to me.

Your FieldTrip was one of my favorites this year <3!
I am so grateful to you for sharing your work with our community. Your beautiful introduction was so powerful and I feel like many hosts could really learn from what you shared.

Below is a small selection of poems created by the participants during the workshop.

Take Note
Fragile? Burnt out?
Get off your rat mood
The reality is you are broken in the best possible way.

Wherever you are, take note:
Manifest the impossible,
Hope, survival, life, chocolate.
You are obviously awesome.

Elizabeth D.

Regular days finished

please let go

broken fan whirls

sunshine hope settles

immersed gentleness rises

solitary radiance grounds

tonight

tea, donuts, joy and wonder

reconnect to the river of life

J. Riehl

Posthumous reality for sale
smile in the sunshine death
Immersed. Indifferent.
Wonder what impossible limelight
made us a bystander to hope?

A. Blair

Radiance, please enter the limelight.
Not only smile upon us,
But believe in Humanity’s renewal.
Reconnect with surprise.
Be generous, not misty.
Being indifferent is a disease.
Radiance, please enter the limelight.
Not only smile upon us,
But believe in Humanity’s renewal.
Reconnect with surprise.
Be generous, not misty.
Being indifferent is a disease.
Like a broken fan in the summer,
It is a disease that invites death Into one’s soul.

A. Living

you put the ease in please
impossible radiance
your generous and gentle soul
sweet sunshine joy body
body of joy
you crash misty around me
my wonder, perfectly imperfect
i am not interested in fast
and free delivery i hope to love
drink tea and heal

K. Lueke

Wherever you are, sugar
When falling
Take note
Create
Write
Love
Get off your acid
In difficult times
Rest
It’s nearly impossible but
We’ve got a beach for that
Awesome.
